Do late effects of sinus radiation contribute to TBI/concussion?

How does the late effects of sinus radiation continue to deteriorate affected areas and worsen minor TBI?

Just today I took the time to read old posts from the three of us, it's been about a year since we first posted in Head&Neck Support Group. We have had different types of cancer, the common factor is radiation and side effects from that. It's really helped me to reconsider treatments for migraine/neck issues and blood vessels damaged by radiation. Also to appreciate what has been good in the years surviving cancer. I've appreciated your senses of humor too!
To think of the similarities in side effects from radiation and wonder why it is no one put it together and talked about what might happen years from then. I think there's a bizarre denial of the worst of it. If they told us, would we have gone ahead with radiation? Or were our chances slim to survive? And they didn't care what came next, just as long as we got the medicine(radiation).
Thank you both for being there!

@jw9 I agree. The radiation was horrible and I'm still feeling the effects of it. It's really not getting that much better either. The areas of discomfort seem to be slivering around and down my neck. And no talks about jaw and teeth damage?

In fact, some problems started after 20 years post radiation! I'm sorry you're feeling the effects at all. But it becomes a payoff, in my mind, that my cancer is in remission all these years, I will just deal with side effects. Damage to my inner ear, I have hearing aids. But they're cool with bluetooth so now I listen to music and no one even knows it.

It has been this way for me. With chronic problems, I can either find ways to cope or go crazy. I've been fortunate to have only peridontal gum disease, and no damage to my teeth. Also, my jaw is okay because the focal point to my radiation was to my face and ear.

Where the beam left my head, I lost my hair! and it grew back baby fine, like some one elses hair. Good thing I'm a baseball fan. I have great hats.

When you write "no talks about jaw and teeth damage" do you mean by others on this site? Or by your doctors? My radiation oncologist told me to use a fluoride mouthwash morning and night. He wrote me a Rx for a strong one. I listened to him. It scared me when I saw others in the waiting room who told me I would lose all my teeth like they did.
