Does fibromyalgia pain come and go?

Posted by kayhopetrib @kayhopetrib, 6 days ago

My aches and pain come and go throughout the day. I can feel okay sitting down and after I get up to move around I start hurting again. I may also be fatigued. I may walk down the hall and back. Or just get up to wash dishes and clean counters. I sometimes feel better after I rest awhile and as long as I keep laying around. Does this happen to others with fibromyalgia?

Yes that is exactly how I felt for a long time. Spent more time resting with heating pad throughout the day after minimal movement. Tired early in the day too. HOWEVER recently I’ve had a pretty major change since taking 6 mg LDN. I have less pain and definitely more energy or/and desire to do things because I don’t have so much pain. I’m assuming it’s the 6mg LDN (had gone up to 4.5mg), and this change coincided with the change to 6mg LDN.

@jeannesf1 I have been on 4 mg LDN for a couple of weeks. Working up slowly to 4.5 mg. I plan on giving it a couple of months to work. Thanks for sharing.

@daisy17 For sure then going to change taking LDN in the morning. You’ve been an absolute gold mine of information on fibromyalgia. Much respect !

@jeannesf1 Thanks, you are so kind. Fibromyalgia ruined my health, which was always pretty good, and changed my life so drastically I was desperate for something to help me. Sometimes I wonder if the LDN helped me or if my getting better was a coincidence. But the LDN is the only thing I did different and soon after I reached the maintenance dose, I slowly improved and now feel back to normal.

My main health issue right now is severe osteoporosis. Coincidentally, through that Mayo support group I learned that some studies have shown that LDN can also help with osteoporosis because that is another inflammatory disease. So I will keep taking it.

I am on pregabalin and amtripuline low doses. I take 1 pregabalin 25 mg tablet morning and another at night and 40 mg of amtripuline in the evening. It has helped but not totally dampened down my pain. At the moment my pain is daily and I need the tablets to keep going. I am even getting pain when I move my eyes. It really never goes away the pain does vary.....
