When I first was diagnosed, my ob had me take it odine drops and cleared it up. I stopped taking iodine but it's not returned. My situation may be unique but iodine couldn't hurt to try.

@judyteresa - I can find odine in a search. Should it be iodine?? Did you take drops orally or apply to the area?? Also, how long did you take the drops and how long ago did you stop without a return of your VLS? So happy you had a good results. Most are still searching for the right formula, that's why I have so many questions.

@edtaraujo Welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. I see that you’ve been around since March but this is your first comment. So, welcome!
Have you asked your doctor about laser therapy or is there another treatment they recommend??

@becsbuddy Hi Becky. Is there any way to find out what doctors do offer laser therapy for VLS? I'm about 3 1/2 hrs from Pensacola and thinking about the clinic there as I'm not pleased with how things are going with my uro/gyno who wants to "cut". I had that done in January a year ago by a different uro/gyno and it's right back in the same condition. It's just too painful to keep doing it over and over again. Thanks.

@fdixon63 I don’t think there is a list of the doctors who do RLT. If you had a list, how would you know who’s competent and who is not? And competency is also based on the number of times the doctor has performed the procedure and patient outcomes. But, now that i think about it, the state medical societies should know what each doctor is cleared to perform. Try calling them and see what you find out.
Are several women who are/were in this discussion pleased with their procedure and it’s outcome?

My wife found treatment with clobetasol was very effective.

Clobetasol is the treatment I use regularly. See a gynecologist, as it requires a specific regimen. Hope you feel better soon.

Hi all LS sufferers. I've had surgery for labial adhesions--3 months ago. I'm still having sharp, strong pain when I pee. The surgeon's NP says to use coconut oil or olive oil. They also say I will have to use estrogen cream nightly for the rest of my life. I don't have a problem doing that but it does nothing for my LS. I began using clobetasol about 5 days ago and initially it seemed to help. Now, not so much. I've read that some have began using a bidet to help their LS. How many have found that helpful? I have a pari bottle with an extendable ?neck that is very easy to use but just checking if any others have tried this and what has been the results. Thanks all.

@fdixon63 Hi, I have just seen your message and have had the same problem since my teenage years as well. Not sure if this will work for everyone but it has been helping me with reducing my extensive scarring and itch..firstly I seen a naturopath and she recommended a probiotic and sea moss to help remove the inflammation from inside the body. After trying a ton of creams and potions meant to heal it and reading all the forums I have found a cheap method of my own combo that is helping secondly..it is using candula cream, bio-oil and I know it sounds weird but a perianal spray (after labour spray) to remove the itch which has been a game changer for me. As I said, it is helping me but is just a possibility for others and can't guarantee the same will happen

@aleciam81 Hi, and thanks for sharing your experience. Are you perhaps referring to Boiron Calendula Cream? I was unable to find anything with the spelling in your message. I'm doing much, much better now but still tweeking the product that seems to be doing the trick so I'll share it later. Glad you have something that gives you relief.

My wife was treated with taro-clobetasol and found it very effective. It is a cream you apply yourself . Good luck.
