Does anyone find that a type of shoe helps your foot neuropathy?

Posted by lorirenee1 @lorirenee1, Mar 25, 2019

I am on a constant quest for shoes that don't kill my feet due to the neuropathy. I find that Spencos and Wolky shoes seem the best. Are there any other suggestions? Shoes can be just crippling for me. Horrid.

Do you have any Balance problem?

Yes, but not as severe with my Xero footwear.

I have found that Brooks Ghost shoes work the best.

I’ve done a lot of searching….so, I’m intent on getting a Sport Sandal. I’m seriously considering the Keen Newport Retro model. It’s rather pricy and I wonder if it will meet my needs. It’s not available to try on in most stores in my area. I’ve checked.

I need good arch support for plantar fasciitis in the arch of my foot that holds well, but will flare without good support. I also need support. Soft doesn’t work for me. I also have slight numbness in my feet. Various theories on cause, but it’s not painful and not a big issue at this point. It seems to be improving with B12 treatment.

I will wear these sandals out and about, errands, housework, concerts, hiking, etc.

I normally wear Vionic shoes. New Balance running shoe and recently Asics are great. I have high instep and have ordered wide width in some shoes. Can’t use Clark or Sketchers.

I want the style of the Keen Newport Retro Sport Sandal. There are many brands and I am concerned they may be too narrow and no support.

I’m posting a link so you can see the style I’m describing. If that isn’t allowed, I hope a mod will kindly forgive me and remove it from my post.

APEX I have three pairs I alternate and they really do make my feet feel better or should I say alleviate some of the pain?

Apex makes a variety a very comfortable sneakers and shoes. I wear them all the time and they really seem to help.

I buy New Balance because these shoes support my ankles and they have a built in "Rollbar" that supports the feet for Balance. New Balance is sort of $$$, but worth it for feet/ankle support. I hope this helps.

Since my neuropathy worsened the pain has been replaced with numbness, balance & other complications. My favorite shoes are New Balance 990 & the 15??. Can't remember if the last two numbers.
I recently bought a pair of Hokas because a nurse recommend them and quite a few people here recommend them also.
They say they have a wider soul giving better stability.
But when I walked in them I was anything but stable. Had I not been holding on to chairs and shoe racks I'm sure I would've fallen. Because of all the recommendations, I thought I'll keep them and try to get used to them.
I read a review from someone who said it took him months to break in the Hoka’s. But I still feel much safer and more stable in my new balance, SAS & Mephisto’s.

I have been wearing Orthofeet shoes for two years. Spinal stenosis, combined with foot neuropathy, created balance issues. I had several falls as a result. I Saw the Orthofeet shoes online and ordered a pair. They come with a 60 - day money back guarantee and you can customize them with the included arch inserts. I now have 4 pair of the shoes and 2 pair of boots. Shipping and customer service are excellent. I was a runner for over 50 years. Did marathons, half marathons and everything in between. Wish I could still run, but I do the treadmill twice daily, stretching, light weight workouts and walking. There is no cure for the stenosis, but at 83 I am very active and happy to be healthy otherwise.
