Anyone else experience dizziness but no shortness of breath?
Last night and most of today i felt pretty lousy . Does Hocm cause terrible dizziness for most people? Im usually symptom free so im just learning what i can blame my hocm for lol when first diagnosed i was having times i was short of breath and of course was dizzy, but this was new having dizziness alone -- of course i wasnt moving much to make myself short of breath cause i was afraid i would fall over if i moved around i was so dizzy. Ecg on watch would say afib sometimes but others it was sinus rythem and i felt exactly the same. Needless to say -- i didnt get much work done. It finally let up this evening

Please find an experienced Cardiologist specialist in HOCM since he can give you the most accurate answer. Good luck and I hope all works for you.
I have found that each individual stories with HOCM has different side effects. The shortness of breath, for me is from the heart muscle thickening. After going on Camzyos it made the thicken of the heart muscle become less stiff. As far as the dizziness, that’s when the heart muscle is not pumping strong enough to get oxygen to the brain. I find if I relax it’s not as bad. An also meds can cause it.. Please see a cardiologist that specializes in it. There is no quick fix. An each individuals body systems are different. Camzyos is not the fix for everyone. May you get the results correct for you. Wish you the best.
I think it is a common sign of HCM. For me it started with terrible palpitations and weird fluttering four years ago, then it progressed to SOB and occasional dizziness after two years, especially with sudden movements or getting up and such, sometimes not even doing anything. I’ve been on Camzyos for 4 months now (just upped my dose to 10 mg a month ago) and the SOB and the fluttering stopped completely, but the dizziness is more persistent and often. Was actually afraid to drive and such. But had my echo a week ago and I now have HCM without the obstruction as Camzyos 10mg seems to be doing its job. And I am happy about that and that news sort of shifted my mindset a little and helped with my anxiety and I feel better generally. But I still have fatigue and dizziness which is frustrating at times.
Hang in there and talk to your cardiologist about everything you’re experiencing.
Dizziness is a very serious concern, as is afib, and I agree with the other commentators about working closely with a HOCM cardiologist to get to the bottom of this. While I am not intending to compare your different case to mine, I want to pass on information to help you think this through and ask questions. My frequent dizziness started 2-3 weeks after a septal myectomy when I was moving about and included giddiness and a couple of syncope. Holter monitor was worn for a month, it was found that arrythmias were occurring and I now have an ICD (named Buddy), which solved the scary problem. You did not say what meds you are taking or what treatments you had, a well versed HOCM cardiologist will include that information as you are evaluated. Let us know what you find out.
Thanks everyone for your comments -- yes i do need to find out if my cardiologist really knows about hocm -- i see him early next month and i will mention this episode. I guess i just assumed he would specialize in it because he is the one that made diagnosis -- but that may not be that he specializes in it .
am fine today -- which was much appreciated but it was not a very physically demanding day either - mostly in a car. I sure appreciate your feed back everyone
