Do you have an inspiring or favorite quote to share?

I'll start with three quotes from the very inspiring Helen Keller as noted in "Your Year of Healing" book by Amit Sood, MD:

"Although the world is full of suffering, it is also full of the overcoming of it."

"The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched -- they must be felt with the heart."

"Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much."

This is actually one of my favorites.
A friend sent me a Christmas card many years ago that I still put out, and it says:

"I like spending the holidays with my family just as much as I enjoy sticking a pin in my eye." LOL. When my sister looked at this last Christmas she gave me "the look" and I had to remind her about why I still feel this way. One year at a holiday dinner at her house, I was sitting next to my brother-in-law's brother, a real bully and brute. The conversation took a turn in politics, he was very drunk and began yelling at me during dinner. No one came to my rescue, so I stood up, got my stuff and asked my sister to drive me home, which she did. I have never returned for another "family" dinner, even if it meant spending the day alone with my dog.

This is probably not the right spot for this, but I sustained a back injury as a teenager and it has not bothered me until the last few years. There is damage on my mid to lower back that is giving me problems walking and making normal movements. The doctor has suggested the epidural needle to kill pain for about 6 months. I've been reading about this procedure and it seems to be 'iffy'. If the procedure is done wrong things could be worse. How can I be sure it's for me?

I have had these injections many times and they help. Be sure they put you in a twilight sleep during the procedure. The anthetic is not covered by insurance by the way. I have Osteoperosis and is the reason for the injections in my lower lumbar. These injections must be made by a qualified Pain Management Physician. I have never had a problem with this heisforme2.

Having said all of that some morings I just take two Tylanol and the pain usually is gone in a couple of hours. Good luck with this. Judith

All the best to yu

Thank you for your reply. I am a Canadian so I will be covered. Yea4s ago I had a cerical epidural and it worked great. A year ago some Dr tried on my lowe4 back with no success. There was no exray, no freezing and he got nothing but blood. Therefore I was very hesitant for the one coming up. My personal Dr thinks it should be good. I have no idea when I get this because the wait list is a year or so. By that time I may not be walking at all. As it is I can only walk a block without pain, then I walk very slowly.
