Do opioids help with your chronic pain? - Successfully?
I used Opioids Post Surgery after my surgeries failed - successfully for 3 months. CRPS had set in both feet. Immediately after prescribing my third prescription for Opioids, my Surgeon pronounced me cured and discontinued any further care. December of 2016 was the last time I received a narcotic for my Pain. Just when I needed them the Most, I was Banned from any further Successful Pain Medication as Every New Pain Clinic told me that Opioids do Not Work for CRPS.
At a time when they are needed the most I have been Red Flagged as a Criminal Medicine Seeker and heard every excuse that Opioids do Not Work, and, are Not acceptable for long term use of over 3-6 months. Not even a Trial. I am unable to use NSAIDS. Gabapentin and Lyrica do not work and had too many side effects,
My research showed that Opioids should be used immediately if Nothing Else Works as TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE in treating CRPS. DO Opioids work on Your Pain? Do No Harm _ Do Nothing...

I'm so sorry that you have this horrible experience. I don't have CRPS but I have something no Dr seems to be able to help with, they keep saying it's nerve damage, and the only thing that has helped is Opiods. Like you, they won't refill it. I may go back to trying Med Marijuana tinture.
What part of the country is that in/are you in ? Will they prescribe Oxycodone ? That has helped me but the surgeon's office won't refill it and I can't find another place yet to get it. Too tired to do all this research because I only sleep a few hours a night.
I feel your Pain. Good Luck and God Bless You.

My CRPS came from surgeries to repair Nerve Damage. Surgeries failed and gave me CRPS Type 2 and then the Indiana Medical Community and the Mental Health Community failed me as well. Indiana has no Medical Marijuana so my body is failing me now. God Bless You and your Family.

Norco is acetaminophen and hydrocodone. Oxycodone is a different opiate drug. Sometimes it is prescribed with acetaminophen in it too. Hydrocodone gives me a sick headache. So I take oxycodone that works for me. I sometimes take acetaminophen between oxycodone doses on the days my pain is a bit more. I cannot take NSAIDs .. and some other medications. People are different from one another in what works for them.
Be sure to take several strong anti-constipation products if you must take pain meds.
Sometimes the side effect of pain meds. are worse than the relief they bring.
But we all know this, don't we?
I have CRPS also and I use THC gummies. I am off ALL opioids except for my Fentanyl Patches. They have to say RSO on the front. NOT Rick Simpson Oil. These are meant for pain control and working for me. Two companies that make them Verano and Encore. Please try them. Gentle Hugs
Good for you. Fentanyl is an Approved medication for CRPS. I've tried Gummies but none have made any difference in the pain in my feet. Thank you very much for you contribution to my post. God Bless you.
