Please tell us what frightening medical diagnosis you are being confronted with. I believe you will find in this group, many amazing people who every day fight through incredibly complex medical conditions. I know it took me time to learn about and then to accept how drastically my life had suddenly changed with my diagnosis of Adhesive Arachnoiditis, a spinal cord disease. It takes tremendous courage to fight against an enemy that we can’t see because it is now part of who we are. I remember watching a History Channel video 20 years ago of how Marines are taught to never run away from an enemy who is shooting at you, simply because the enemy will follow and keep shooting at you wherever you go. That wants nothing more than to shoot in you the back. Intractable Pain is the enemy and it will relentlessly follow you wherever go. Our challenge is to bring the fight to this, that at times, seems this sinister force has you surrounded and wants to capture you alive and then torture you until you die. Hopefully, over time, we will learn how to cope with whatever comes our way and learn how build a life together. We will help you in any way we can.
