Dietary changes for lichen sclerosis

Posted by scarlettoh @scarlettoh, Oct 12, 2022

Has anyone had any luck with dietary changes for lichen sclerosis? (blood sugar management, less sugar, intermittent fasting, no dairy, etc) Ironically I have also found that possibly increased blood flow to the area (through bike riding) has seemed to decrease symptoms dramatically.

It’s a complicated article, but very interesting. I copied some pages that were easier to understand. Anything specific for LS, I didn’t see. But will look again later. Thanks for sharing!

Besides diet for GYN lichen sclerosis, I have been getting it lasered. Very painful, but it is curing it. I had it done 3 times in 1 1/2 yrs and she says maybe once this year and then maybe done except for maintaining it when/if it begins to comes back. However, the "damage" is done! Embarrassing to me that I will never get back what was lost, but keeping ahead of it is very helpful. There is new insight happening in this "area" . Sad how I was embarrassed about it and had NO idea what happened!

I have suffered for years with this. changed diet, used cream… all a dead end until I found the Coyle Institute in Pensacola Florida…. amazing doctor who developed the Tulip Procefure which is laser light therapy to get the unhealthy tissue away and allow the healthy cells to regenerate… I am singing his praises and getting this out yo all LS people that are suffering!!

I followed the link on AIP. But since I'm also pescatarian, it eliminated almost my entire diet! I get nearly all of my protein from legumes, nuts/seeds, eggs and dairy.
Is there any research into developing a testing process for auto-immune sensitivities similar to what is done for allergy testing?
