Hi @cathy514, so good to see that you were able to login again and post messages. Thanks for your patience.

You ask about in-person support groups in lower Michigan. I suggest you contact the Greater Michigan Alzheimer's Association to find something close to you.
https://www.alz.org/gmc/helping_you/support_groups
You can call their 24/7 Helpline at 800.272.3900 or send an email at helplinegmc@alz.org

Your so smart to look for support to help reduce the loneliness. Dementia can be so isolating and sometimes talking with others online isn't enough. But for those in between times, we're here for you – any time.

@cathy514 I’m so sorry for what you’re going thru. I, too, often feel the same way. I used to be so active, doing everything, riding my bike, hiking, etc. Now, I can only do things in short spurts because I get so tired. And when I’m walking in a store, I’m sure that everyone thinks I’m drunk because I can’t walk straight. Oh well.
Have you explained to your neighbors what’s going on? They might feel better knowing because then they can help. And, please, don’t be embarrassed! We all do the best we can. ( sounds like I’m giving myself a pep talk! I need it!). Becky

Hello Cathy,
Can you or do you know what stage your at 1-7?
If not can you let us know what your able to do and not do?
Any visual problems
Do you read, watch tv
Do you have a caregiver
Any balance issues
Do you fix your own meals
Get dressed
Memory issues
If we knew more of your current status people may be better equipped to offer suggestions.
Hang in there,
Jake
