Hi Clyde
Do you have discomfort from the implants during your normal daily activities. I’m one year post surgery and still require a shield during the day.

No, I don't experience pain or discomfort. On one or two occasions I did not deflate and experienced discomfort and annoyance in adjusting to often. But in my daily activities, no.

This isn't a comment about penile implants. I just can't do an implant. Anyway, I'm 78 years old and I'm taking testosterone cypionate self-injections in my upper thigh once per week. My blood work data had shown that for at least 4 years my Free-T was very low. I had read medical websites that stated there was clearly a relationship between low Free-T and ED. 3 urologists wanted no part in investigating that for me, so I finally went to an endocrinologist who did the bloodwork for my hormone levels (somewhat close to female levels) then did prescribe the T injections. My Free-T now is in the bottom of the normal range, but not yet into mid-range. My libido has definitely come back (Yay), but three things bother me: 1.) erection rigidity - barely erect enough able to have good intercourse. 2.) My sperm is yellowish and clear (alarming to me). 3.) It takes me a lot longer to get to orgasm despite my good libido. Need oral sex from wife to get to orgasm. I can masturbate to get an orgasm, but it takes a while to get there. Not interested in keeping up that. Any ideas about the yellow and clear sperm?

Where to start: your yellow sperm is "probably" a product of the injection of synthetic meds to increase your Free-T. We have another 78 year old Mayo blogger who also went the route of Free-T investigations. This Libido thing is not tangible ( I am not being argumentative). When you have an implant that allows you to have an election on command your confidence hormone is off the scale. No doubt, getting use to having a mechanism in your body that you were not born with takes some getting use to. All these other avenues you are pursuing will continue to frustrate you. We are in our 70's. Do you really want to take another 2 years mocking around with investigations that will lead you back to the same thing......election issues? You are 78. Get the implant and by the time you are 79 you will be more than use to it. If you need a recommendation of a doctor. I can do that confidently. Unfortunately. I only know one. I had more to say. But in the part of the world I am currently in, my day just started. Go luck on your decision.
I also second getting a implant do not wait .. I'm almost 71 got mine last year wish I would have done it 5 years before. I have a mallabble and suggest to others to check them out .. less chance of infection ..you'll be able to use it for sex within 90 days in most cases ... almost nothing to fail .. go to a site called franktalk.com tons of information on your issues and implant info ..good luck to you.
Mine is a Titan Coloplast. Procedure was done at Rochester Mayo, because I live near. Recovery wasn't bad. I went home the same day with a catheter. Then I went back the next day to remove the catheter and inspection. I went in a few more times for inflation/deflation training. I had some difficulty figuring out deflate. The bulb has to be positioned and gripped properly. It wasn't totally clear to me what the orientation was in the scrotum. They want you to start cycling up and down fairly soon to keep tissue stretched. I have no regrets!
Shots can be expensive since they have to be blended at a compounding pharmacy ..mine are 85.00 to 120.00 a bottle depending on the mix good for about a month and about 16 injections depending on the dose you are using ..can use the needle every other day ... Go on YouTube and look at the different surgeries on penile implants that is what I do before I make any major choices .. if your diabetic will make a difference which implant they will be willing to use so I was told ..they like to use the mallable one since the infection rate is lower in diabetics ..
Thank you Jake for your information and recommendations. I am going to deal. I will try the injection as a precursor to the implant. I still have not heard to he cost yet. I do have Medicare and I am 73 years, so penile implant should be an acceptable end remedy that Medicare can approve.
WOW! This discussion is two years old. I had to the e implant done (AMS 700). Best decision I could have made for the few years I have left on this sexually oriented planet we live on.

3 ReactionsIs your size the same as before? Grower or shower previously?
Look into injections
That’s about 8$ an erection. Not as bad as I thought
