DBS Surgery
Has anyone had first hand experience with DBS surgery either through self or a loved one. My dad is 82 with last stage Parkinsons and my family is divided as to whether or not my dad should have it done. Just wanted to hear from others what their experience has been after the surgery.

Whether your dad is in late stage PD, or some earlier stage, a big question is whether or not he wants the surgery and understands what's involved with it.
A determination also must be made as to whether or not he's a good DBS candidate an internet search for more information on "conditions that prevent a PD patient from being a good DBS candidate" will give you a list of possible concerns related to your dad's health that your medical team will consider.
