Has anyone ever been on Duloxetine (Cymbalta) for nerve pain?
Has anyone ever been on Duloxetine (Cymbalta) for nerve pain? I've had 2 doctors push this on me. I know that the side effects can be terrible and getting off of it difficult as it requires titration. One time I remember taking one pill, and not liking the way it made me feel, so not taking any more, and still feeling the "weirdness" from it 2-3 days later. and that was only 30 mg Please pass along any experience or advice from this medication?

1 ReactionMy pcp started me on Cymbalta recently for chronic nerve pain from 6 back surgeries in 7 years and it has been life changing for me. It took out 90 percent of ALL of my different areas of nerve pain when used with my 1200mg of Gabapenin per day. Any side effects went away after a couple weeks. I wish were introduced to it years ago.

1 ReactionI’ve been taking Cymbalta for some time now. It was a little bit helpful for the pain, but it really helps in “feeling better”. In other words it helps with my mental condition. It is an anti depressant after all. That helps the feeling with pain. For the physical pain I am getting spinal injections which are taking care of the physical pain.

2 ReactionsMy Dr just prescribed me cymbalta for pain since I cannot take, lyrics, gaba, however it didn't agree with me. I'm currently on a pain med that worked in the beginning, now I'm lucky if it takes the edge off. I've just been diagnosed with Sjogrens that could be the contributor to my SFN. So I'm hoping and praying she has some relief for me.
Is there anyone here that was diagnosed with Sjogrens? Are you on any autoimmune meds?

1 ReactionCymbalta makes me so sick. Tried several times to take it and thought I had the flu. I do not take any oral meds only using topical currently. I have leg pumps that really help with the aching.

2 ReactionsThat's why I don't take any medications for this neuropathy. I've been on all of them gained weight, my children said I acted wacky on the gabapentin. I'm taking a low milligram of methadone but it does nothing for my pain. Currently I'm losing a lot of weight, I'm hungry but I take a few bites spit it out and do that all day. I recently was told I have Sjogrens and Raynaud's, but have I have been sick for years. It took me a long time to get my biopsies, now I'm hoping the Rheumatologist can treat me for all the pain and other symptoms. I'm hoping to get a full body Pet Scan soon to check for any return of cancer due to my weight and appetite loss. I'm so over this pain. The way I feel is as if I'm dying very slow .
How do you manage your pain and other symptoms? Have you lost appetite or weight?
