COVID vaccines and neuropathy

Posted by cue @cue, Feb 15, 2021

I am 85 with small fiber neuropathy that is getting worse. My neurologist thought it would be a good idea for me to wait with the covid vaccine and not be first in line to see how it affected other people with neuropathy. Probably because it is a new technology. Has anyone had a problem with neuropathy after receiving the vaccine? If so, which vaccine?

Vaccines of any kind, not just covid vaccines, can cause swollen lymph nodes in the armpit of the side the vaccine was given on. It usually subsides within 4 to 6 weeks. We advise women to wait a few months after their covid vaccine before getting a mammogram to reduce the chances of false positives.

You are correct. But these are months later, by which time the typical post-vax reactions usually subside unless I'm wrong in that assumption.

Yes. I think you are right.

You know, since these neuropathies started 5 hours after my 4 th Pfizer in January, I think I have researched and read every bit of information worldwide about this issue, from anecdotal reports to professional journals. Nowhere is there an actual explanation, let alone a solution. It is truly bewildering. I don't think it's a coverup; I think no one knows. I tell myself everyday that the body will heal itself, that in the overwhelming majority of the people reporting who have gone through exhaustive workups, nothing is abnormal. I also caution myself not to attribute every single thing that happens to me on a daily basis to a vaccine reaction. I do know that searching the internet and obsessively thinking about it makes it much worse. I wish I had some answers.

I tbelieve that you are right that, at least for some of these episodes, doctors don't have a clue. The orthopedic surgeon whom my friend was seeing before Pfizer vax says that he and other orthopods in the area are seeing dozens of new patients with sudden-onset leg weakness and difficulty walking. Many describe this in the same words my friend uses; his legs feel wooden-ish or heavy and just non-responsive or as if slightly novocained. And feel heavy to lift, making walking feel very difficult. He's also seen a neurologist who also is seeing first-time patients with the same complaint.

I doubt though that Pfizer has no clue as to what's going on, though may have zero treatment suggestions. But any company that's fully indemnified by the Federal government and still wants 75 years before having to release known and newly-observed adverse effects is automatically suspect in my opinion. There is, after all, no threat of lawsuits because the company is protected from that risk. [The judge denied Pfizer the outrageous 75 years requested.]

Your story sounds almost identical to mine. I’ve been going through these symptoms now for 16 months, since my first Pfizer. I had a total of 3. I have slight improvement only. I’m so sorry that you, and all of us, are having to experience this. Totally mind boggling.

Do the orthopods have any explanation for these symptoms?

Alas, no. At least according to the two orthopedic surgeons my friend saw.

Yes and worse is that the neurologists do not seem to believe that this could be the course and that no one is really being honest.

I will toss this in for consideration. I go to a world-renowned medical facility and was told by a nurse there that the oncology department is seeing a lot of women with inflamed and/or infected underarm lymph nodes on the same arm where the mRNA "not exactly a vaccine, more an operating system update'" vax, to quote the senior mRNA expert at Scripp's, was given. The oncologists are unofficially tracking stats to see if the number of first-time breast cancers are deviating from historical patterns and occurring in disproportionate numbers on the side of the body where the "vax" was given.

I have a friend who's not been able to wall without pain and difficulty since the second Pfizer vax. His orthopedic surgeon in Palm Beach County has mostly professional athletes as clients and said that he and colleagues are seeing a lot of this complaint of generalized weakness after the vax and they and neurologists are stymied so far as to exactly what is damaged, how to treat it, whether it will improve over time. And the nurse who mentioned the flurry of newly-swollen lymph node cases has a mother whose right leg has been essentially paralyzed since her second vax.

Maybe people are tolerating the first vax (if they do) but the second is a clear overload? No wonder Pfizer wanted 75 years (sic!) to provide lists of reported adverse effects. I'm not anti-vax but I'm militantly pro informed consent. Which none of us were able to give absent the ability to become informed.

Months ago I reported here, pain in low back down left leg, crushing rib cage pain, and neck started after 1st 2 Moderna shots Mar 2021, then super intense day after booster Nov 2021. All doctors said nothing in MRIs or blood tests. Waited 3 months to see a neurologist who refused to do 1 test. Said none of my severe spine related pain was neurological. Just go to a pain clinic, which I had been to twice.
So , I also have seen the oncologists warnings about irregular lymph node inflammation months after vaccines.
Also .. if you check, several warnings from plastic surgeons about severe inflammation where Hyaluronic Acid had been injected even years before. In case you don't know, hyaluronic acid is in all parts of your body naturally! When hi molecular weight HA ( which lowers inflammation) is broken down to low molecular HA , it then causes inflammation.
2 medical specialty areas acknowledge damage being done, and warning patients. Everyone else is wearing blinders it seems. My pain now seems to vary daily in what seems to be lymph nodes in neck and groin ,and still crushing rib cage. But, where do I go and who will listen. I manage with Advil 3 times a day, sometimes.
Considering myself lucky , no paralysis, or stroke from inflammation. So far.
Anyone finding doctors who acknowledge and try to help would be appreciated. Thank you.

This study published January 24 in Cell by Stanford University researchers reported that the spike protein produced from the Covid vaccines can persist in lymph nodes for up to 8 weeks in some people https://www.cell.com/cell/fulltext/S0092-8674(22)00076-9?rss=yes#relatedArticles.
