COVID 4 times

Has anyone had experience with Covid multiple times? I’m on round 4 and I just got my booster. I’m an otherwise healthy person who doesn’t smoke. I’m just wondering why I keep getting it. I had it in November 2020, July 2022, August 2023 and now-January 2024.

That’s pretty amazing. Have you tracked where you were or who you were around just prior to getting it? I personally know multiple people who have had it twice.

Oh. I’ve heard that children often carry viruses. I worked part time in a pediatric’s office once and stayed sick for 3 months. Just before New Year’s this year a couple of kids visited my parents and I. (My young niece visits regularly, but she does not attend regular school.) Shortly after the visit we each got very sick. I’m not sure what it was, but it was severe. I tested negative for covid, but had all symptoms. I love kids, but …..idk.

It might be RSV that is making people sick…we got a virus infection after Christmas, our first time since the pandemic started because I was too afraid of getting infected, our four grandchildren are ages five to sixteen. My son always says she gets the virus of the week..it’s unfortunate but our young children are germ carriers and today they don’t have to wear masks, this is a sad decision to make and I also heard that RSV is doing more damage than covid. In Canada they are charging for the RSV vaccine and I think it’s crazy, not many people are going to pay for vaccines or can’t afford it unless you have private insurance…why other than more greed do they charge for vaccinations, I suppose financial gain outweighs the health of the people at risk for getting sick.

Why do you keep getting Covid?
1. We were isolated and masked for months, reducing our immune system's natural response to fight.
2. We were sold the Covid vaccine / boosters as a 'silver bullet' against the virus. It's not.
3. We are social and want to be with other people. And when we go to family reunions, holiday events, concerts, basketball games or just go do the daily tasks like grocery shopping, pick up mail at post office, and go fuel your car at the gas station - there are other people, some who might have Covid, or a cold or flu.
4. Wash your hands often.
5. There are a lot of people who are just existing in their homes - too afraid they will be infected. Because of the crowds, they don't attend their children's events, don't go to church, and haven't been to a social event in a couple of years. This isn't living; furthermore, you continue to weaken your immune system by staying away from others.

Yes! We were told&sold, "If EVERYONE would just get vaxed&boosted this would all go away. What a crock!
$Follow the money folks.
Now China is experimenting again, a new virus. I fear this is a neverending cycle.

I am just recovering from my third round of COVID. No one else in my family got it. None of them stayed away from me either. It is crazy how I seem to keep getting it and no one else I know does. I don't even know how i got it. We have been snowed in, and I work from home for the most part. I suffered severe long covid after the first 2 rounds in 2021 and 2022. However, I took the antivirals this time and seem to be doing much better. I am only day 10, so we will see. I did not get any more boosters and refuse to do so, as I do think I have vaccine injury long covid.

I've had it 3 times myself. Did the first 2 shots. 63yrs old, work, grocery & home. This last time in Dec, had pretty much been home since Oct having been restructured out of my job.
Makes no sense at all, feel my brain has been permanently, adversely affected. Without insurance I manage on my own.

@robbie6154 , i have had covid three times- January 2022, December 2022 and December 2023. I have add but the booster vaccine that was available fall 2023. No one else in my household got it when i did. In December 2023 , my husband and i were in a car for 9 hours the day before i tested. I thought i just had a cold, so no mask. My husband did not get it! I don’t know why i went 2 1/2 years without getting it and then 3 times in a year?

I've had it 4 times. First July 2020 before vaccine. I got vaccinated but got it again in Aug 2021. Summer 2022, a few months ago. 3 times it was after spending time with friends who were sick within days (friend had been to a work holiday party last time -thanksgiving. ) another time someone picked someone up at the airport and didn't tell me. They got it, then I did.
Btw, I have never tested positive, but my IGG, which is only positive if you absolutely had it, was highly positive per lab results. At one point there were like 30% false negatives.
My pcp has said from the start - if you are sicker than you have been in a long time, or very sick out of nowhere, assume its covid. Esp right now. Sore throat can be covid even if you test negative. Long covid since July 2020, has 100% changed my life. Oxygen at night, BP meds, etc. I never tested positive. I'm immune compromised.
