Cost of Camzyos
I was lucky enough to be accepted in the BMS Cover My Meds program for the last year. I’m not sure if I’ll meet the income requirements this year (in October) when my initial 1 yr agreement expires. When I recently looked, income needed to be under 150% of the poverty level, which is quite low.
The drug cost is $8000-$9000 for 30 capsules
Because the drug is not on any Part D plan formularies, the new 2025 $2000 drug cap does not apply to this Camzyos.
I would appreciate anyone’s comments, insight or experience in obtaining Camzyos.
Thanks!

I just went on Medicare this month after having camzyos covered by traditional insurance for 2 years. It’s not on anyone’s formulary yet but my cardiologist asked for a prior auth from Cigna (my part D provider) and it was immediately approved. The down side is you have to pay the $2000 initially (or set up a payment plan) but once you reach it, the rest is covered for the year. We have to start the process over each January.
I just started Camzyos on Medicare part D approved coverage only because my Cardiologyst office did for me a "Prior Authorization" document that was submitted to the insurance (Humana) so now THEY ARE COVERING MY CAMZYOS with only $10 copay. I already had met the $2,000 initial expenses not sure if with Camzyos, or other medications but it works great for me with Humana Medicare part D. I hope this helps.
To find a Cardiologist that must be Camzyos certified call this number 833-628-7367 they might be able to direct you where to find a Camzyos Certified Cardiologyst.
Thanks, ironically my Part D is Humana also. Great info!!
Thanks Andy, I appreciate the helpful info!!
Quick question. Where do you get the Camzyos from ie, local pharmacy, Humana mail order or somewhere else?
I am also on Camzyos and, after the initial $2000 it is covered by Medicare and United Healthcare supplement. I get through Optum Rx specialty pharmacy - it’s mail order
I get it to Optum Rx also. Notice this is a specialty medication that cannot be delivered by any local pharmacy (as of today). The registered pharmacy must be Camzyos certified (the same as the Cardiologist, his nurse and even us as patients). That is why we get so large brochure with all potential side effects of this medicine. Camzyos is dispensed only by an specialty mail order pharmacy.
Hi all!
Non American here so please excuse my ignorance, but why is Camzyos in the US so expensive? I mean, I know it is an expensive drug and made in Europe but the price discrepancy is wild. In Europe it is 1400 eur (still one of the most expensive drugs, but it’s completely covered by our insurance), but 8000-9000 dollars? Who in the world could afford that?? Even paying 2000 out of pocket seems ridiculous to me. I just feel this is absurd and just beyond exploitative of patients.
