Constant sinus

Posted by naney @naney, Feb 4, 2021

I have an issue I’ve seen no one write about. I’ve been to 20 drs., had cryotherapy and innumerable drugs and rinses. My left sinus is constantly running a thick sticky mucus. I can’t go anywhere,do anything....live. It makes breathing difficult. The morning is the most difficult as I’m so stuffed and have to really work to clear my head. An ideas? I’m really desperate!

@naney

I honestly wouldn’t know where to start to get my home checked for molds etc. Any idea for that ? Ideas for who would/could work with me to figure out a fix ?
Thank you again!

...hi, sorry to intrude... but I went through searches for years to find out what was causing my eyes to be red and sore; and now I am trying to find out about "stringy mucus" from one side of nose.... it can be surprising what we end up finding out.... my eye issue at that time (I now have unrelated Glaucoma) it was the office xerox machine toner! Recently I read about paper tissues we use to keep blowing our noses etc, can have a lot of chemicals in them and people are actually having reactions to blowing or wiping their noses with the paper - so they are suggesting fabric handkerchiefs which is a bit of a nuisance but who would think paper Kleenex would cause reactions in some users? Just thought would mention it; also stuffing in bed pillows... probably not a cause for you but have read some of the fabrics/stuffing is so processed its even worse for some people than feathers etc. Best of luck with your problem, I have similar issues plus a laundry list of other medical problems and it sure can affect our quality of life. J.

I can empathize as I have the same issue. When I had sinusitis surgery 20 years ago it alleviated the problem in my right sinus but rendered my left sinus at about 80%. Since then my left sinus has gotten worse and is visibly inflamed. I was informed to take Clonazepam or an antihistimine. They are not long term solutions and no-one has had a real answer. Since it is just my one sinus and it is inflamed I am going to research balloon sinuplasty. Did you ever get an answer on your problem?

The above drug should be Flonase not Clonazepam.

Have they checked you for AERD/Sampters Triad?
Took 7 years for my diagnosis.
Wish you the best.
