Considering no meds and trying diet, exercise and supplements

Hello. I have read soooooo much about both. Meds vs naturally increasing bone mass density. Please if anyone has successfully bypassed the med route - what did you do? How long did it take? Are you pleased with your increase? I am strongly considering no meds as I am on a cocktail already for epilepsy - which decreases bone density! I dont need more despair from possible brittle bones from meds. Thank you for any hope.

What are your T scores…not a perfect way but a start. Extremely low tscores may not allow for a “natural approach “ according to some doctors…

Just over the osteopenia/osteoporosis mark. Not really low. But lower than last test a few years ago when they pointed to osteopenia.

I am only at the beginning of my "go natural" journey, so I'm sorry I cannot help you right now. However, for a plethora of information to support a more natural approach and straight talk in so many ways, check out the following specialists in the bone health arena on YouTube: 1). Margie Bissinger. 2). Sarah Mapes. 3). Dr. Lucas. I hope you get good guidance. I empathize with you and wish you the best!

Be sure you try to eliminate secondary or primary causes.

I have been on seizure meds for 45 years and that is our “best guess” as to the cause. How do I find out what other causes might be? I am new to this. Thank you.

Usually your primary care physician directs you to the a specialist depending on your history symptoms etc. blood tests are ordered based on what they think is a possible cause. Sometimes they miss things and it requires you to be vigilant and persistent…if you are not getting answers ask to be referred to another doctor…I was raised that doctors were like “gods” your questions are what counts…
This Tymlos I have just been put on last week might not even work for my severe osteoporosis but it’s what I’m trying first…Our bodies all respond differently.

Thank you so much. An endocrinologist visit is in the works. I hope I learn more about possible causes.

That sounds like a step in the right direction…we are in a small part of north east…specialty doctors are in short supply and getting an appointment is another whole thing. I’d love to follow your progress. I’ll be posting here how I’m doing. I’ve learned a lot here.

Book a consult with Dr. Keith McCormick. He is not one to push meds unless it's really necessary.
