congestive heart failure

Does anyone have experience with congestive heart failure? I know everyone is different, but I am trying to wrap my mind around what to expect.

I am not sure you are in the right group. MCC has a group for heart failure and cardiology. If you go to that group you will get a lot more information from group.

Having congestive heart failure is not a death sentence. I have had it since 2001. I am on great medication Entresto and Coreg. I also had a ICD/Pacemaker implanted back in 2006.

Now everyone is different and also very important to what degree you have CHF. What is your ejection fraction? Are you on any medications? What caused your CHF? Cardiomyopathy, heart attack?

What to expect? If you are at a major medical institution like Mayo, Cleveland Clinic, John Hopkins, etc. expect outstanding care and a plan specifically designed for you. Great medications these days so stay positive.

A lot depends on the cause of your CHF. I had it in 2018 because my aortic valve failed and had to be replaced. I was on two calcium channel blockers and 2 beta blockers until it was replaced. After my valve was replaced…no more CHF…
