Confused about saturated fats

Posted by obsessiveboy30 @obsessiveboy30, 1 day ago

It is known that saturated fats are bad for you but little amount is accepted. There are many people who say saturated fats are good for you and we shouldn't fear them.

I do use butter to fry eggs every morning.

I'm one of those who do not fear saturated fats. I cook my morning eggs in butter and coconut oil. I eat lots of red meat. My blood lipids are all in the healthy range. I avoid carbohydrates as they raise blood lipids when overconsumed.

What is your question? It is so individual. What is your concern about your own health?

@obsessiveboy30, I also was wondering what your question was so I thought I would share a couple of Mayo Clinic videos on saturated fats to see if they help provide information that helps.

Correct. As in all foods, including wine, moderation is the key to balance. For instance, hoping to lower my blood pressure which was a bit high, I stopped eating salt almost completely, only to create a condition of "low sodium", as diagnosed in my blood work.
