Clogged arteries at 86 yrs. old
Wondering if my brother at 86 yrs. old, in good health with a healthy heart, has 3 clogged arteries, should consider stents or by-pass surgery to correct the problem. Has anyone with a family member experienced this for an elderly person, and what was the results of their procedure.

Hi, I just a few days ago had a Sent placed for a 70% blockage. My only symptoms were a bit of lack of energy. I'm a Heart transplant receiptant so due to the Vegas nerve being cut did not feel any pain with the reduced flow in my LAD branch. So I turn 67 next week and not in my 80's yet but the procedure was so easy all done in 1 day I would think a stent would be the less invasive procedure for your relative. But of course, a meeting with his doctors and discuss options is always the best place to start.
