Cirrhosis and ulcers
Is there anyone here with cirrhosis who has been diagnosed with gastric ulcers? Have portal hypertension? Not H. pylori positive? Experiencing night pain on left side? I have been trying to find the cause of this pain at night and recently had an EGD that showed gastric ulcers. One symptom is night pain on left side. Some articles I read indicate a higher rate of ulcers in Cirrhotic patients with portal hypertension. Just wondering if or how many of you out there are experiencing something similar. Thank you for your attention.

Hi, @parrot53 - tagging a few members to provide you some support who may be familiar with cirrhosis and/or ulcers, or both at the same time @firecat @cs1964 @mylifebe4u @arqui02000 @myfablife @dval @suzzee3 @sandif @lohavi @trantplant2022 @katebw. They also may know about cirrhosis and ulcers in the context of portal hypertension. @scottrl also may have some thoughts for you.
Hi,
I had issue with my gastric system overall while I was healing. I did not have ulcers although portal hypertension. What did your hepatologist say about next steps for the ulcers?
I hope you are feeling a little better today,
Sandi
I was put on Pantropozole twice a day for 28 days then once a day and am still taking that. I had a second EGD and the ulcers are gone. I was previously taking a low dose aspirin daily for another issue but have stopped that. Both the PPI and no aspirin have cleared the ulcers. However, I am still having pain, worse at night, and mostly on my left side but sometimes on the right too. Still looking to find an answer. I am going for a small bowl CT to take a look at that soon.
That is such positive news in resolving the ulcers. Are you having ultrasounds / MRI every 6 months ? When is your CT scan?
Still trying to work out the cause of pain. CT this coming week. Yes, MRI every 3 months for 2 years after HCC tumor ablation and now on a 4 month schedule to push out to 6 months until I hit the 5 year mark then once a year.
