Chronic pelvic pain syndrome treatment

Posted by rstollery @rstollery, Mar 4, 2020

I'm going to a physical therapist weekly for this condition, and she feels the muscles surrounding my anus are too tight. She recommended reading "A Headache in the Pelvis" by Dr. David Wise, which I am doing now, and also doing some relaxive work to see if the muscles will loosen up. Is anybody else experiencing this type of constant pain?

This is just a personal experience. I had chronic pelvic pain a few years ago. Had it for well over a year, never thought the pain would stop. Went to a physical therapist and she hooked me up to a Machine and said my muscles leading to my pelvic area were too tight. Tried some thing to stick up my butt and send shock waves through me, but my anus was to tight to stick even a small probe in. So the physical therapist ended up giving me weekly massages. They were so painful, excruciating. From my legs to my back. She also told me to get a pool noodle and when I'm driving to rock on it, basically massage my taint area. It really didn't do too much although the massages were getting less painful. What changed everything was getting a massage gun, I had my wife hit my entire body with it. Initially for the first few weeks I could barely take it, it was soo painful. But after a couple weeks I got used to it, my body loosened up, and my bladder stop spasming within a few weeks. My years long of pain was over. I always massage my body now and never had a problem. Also don't use the restroom when your body tells you(like getting home), force yourself to hold it a bit longer, making sure you pee at least 15 seconds. It worked for me. (I also did lots of stretches before and after massages)
