Chronic fatigue, Long COVID, and research
I know that in my experience, chronic fatigue is a major symptom of Long COVID. I am sharing this research article as there is a correlation (possible link) between the gut microbiota and Long COVID.

3 ReactionsThey also overlap with many other autoimmune diseases. When I first got sick, Epstein Barr Virus was reactivated, and that was 4 years ago. My doctors treat the symptoms as best they can. I have never had a flu vaccine and I have never had the flu and I am 55 years old. This virus does a lot of things to the body. Inflammation is at the base of it, at least in my experience. I am not doctor either. I do believe people should go to their doctor's however, with PEM/CFS and Long COVID, most doctor's are at a loss as to what to do. I am grateful I have not ended up in the hospital, although so many have and did. Thank you for sharing. I agree people need to make sure their doctors are aware of what is happening. I post research for folks to gain knowledge and I also hope they might take some of this research and these papers to their doctors as well. I hope you have a safe holiday!!
I have long covid and I am in HELL! I have been diagnosed with Acute Disseminated encephalomyelitis, fibromyalgia, SFN, LFN, CFS, Chronic Inflammatory Disseminated Polyneuropathy amoung this new one i just got the results. STIFF PERSON SYNDROME! I have found a fantastic neurologist and this is my first visit and he has already did some genetic testing and found out this info as well as I am a carrier of ALPHA 1 ANTITRYPSIN . It very confusing right now but this has been going on for 3 years and I am in so much pain. It hurts just to touch me. I feel like a guinea pig but I will take any relief they will give me!! I get IVIG infusions which r helping some. They r keeping my symptoms at bay. I guess.
