@santosha Chris, yes you are absolutely right. No warnings, no focal seizures. I had various tests done and went to the professor of neurology at the University of PA Hospital (1975) only to get shrugged shoulders. Clear brain scans. Forty years later, I did develop peripheral neuropathy in 2014 and given an affirmative dx in 2015. Idiopathic sensory motor peripheral neuropathy, again, shrugged shoulders at Mayo in MN in 2020. So, bottom line, I've been dealing with neurological issues for 55 years. Over the years, I've learned to live my life the best I can, take meds and I realize that I am fortunate that the Dilantin is holding me seizure free.

@santosha Chris, you are right, it truly is a journey. I've always tried to maintain a positive attitude towards any and all things that come up as far as health-related items keeping in mind that there are a lot more things out there way worse than what you may be encountering at this time. Best to you, Ed

Hi @ssaygi
I just came across this article about whether epilepsy is genetic and immediately thought of your post. I'm sharing it here:

@santosha Hi Chris - I did read the article you posted yesterday and found it very interesting. The huge surprise to me is that, according to the article, there are only about 3 million people living with epilepsy in the US. I'm not sure why but I would have thought that number would have been much higher. That means only about one percent of the population is living with epilepsy. Thanks for the posting. Ed

My pleasure @njed !
Complementing, epilepsy is the fourth most common neurological disorder in the US after migraine, stroke, and Alzheimer's. It affects over 50 million people worldwide, unfortunately!
