Chest pain

Posted by sabrinamoreno17 @sabrinamoreno17, Jan 26, 2022

Hi my name is Sabrina I am 28 years old and I am from Dallas, TX. It’s been an overwhelming year for me. I have been having chest pains since April. The pains are a strong pinch/striking pain. It comes in episodes. The pain lasts for a second and returns every 5-15mins until it is completely gone(takes3-5 days to stop) I have seen 3 cardiologist done a stress test echo test and heart CT. First cardiologist told my my vessel was too small so prescribe me life long blood pressure medication. I didn’t feel good about this so I went to see 2 more options. The other two options told me my heart is fine and my vessels aren’t a problem since I have another one that makes up for it. I also had an endoscopy done because I get acid reflux and the dr told me it’s mild and is not the case of chest pain. She told me to go back to my physician and see what they could do next. So I’m back at square one. I have seen 4 primary care physicians they can’t tell me what it is. This week the pain has come back it and is now happening in my left breast area. It usually happens right in the center of my chest. Episodes happened April, July, October, now. I can’t find anything triggering it. It comes when I’m resting, walking etc. I do noticed it stops when I am laying down very still. I never had anxiety in my life so I don’t think it’s that. The first time I got they pain the doctor gave me propanol and it seemed to work. The second time it came it took it again but took some time to work. The third time it came the propanol did not work. Please help me I am so lost and it’s really having an negative impact on my life.

@sabrinamoreno17 At times, I have had chest pain too that is muscular and triggered by thoracic outlet syndrome (TOS). It causes tightness in my neck and chest and it is enough to start to twist a rib, so I can get pains in the sternum where a rib connects. I had gone through a cardiology workup, so I know it is not heart related. I can get a muscle spasm that starts it, and I can also massage it out with my hand and stop the pain. My physical therapist works on it with manual therapy and myofascial release. You may want to see a good manual physical therapist for an evaluation. Your doctors can give you a script for PT. Are you under stress that could be causing this? Slouching posture can bring this on for me because it aggravates TOS. TOS can be caused by an injury like a whiplash. Have you had a whiplash before?

Hi thanks for your feedback! I will look into this. I do have poor posture when sitting at my desk at work. As for whiplash I never experienced that before.
