CBD oil and depression/anxiety

Posted by lalyfa @lalyfa, Feb 24, 2018

I am curious to know if anyone has had success with CBD or Hemp oil helping with depression/anxiety? I’ve been reading a lot about it and am curious.
I’ve been reading about this and am very interested but would like thoughts/opinions from anyone who has actually tried it or knows someone who has. TIA

Thank you,
Laura

Oh my, you sound like me with the anxiety. I do use the CBD oil w/so THC. I find the one with THC works well only using a small amount. I usually use the one w/o thc. I need something before I leave the house because I get so anxious when I’m away from home. This all started with with drawing from Lyrica, and I have been told it can take up to two years before you feel yourself again. I am hoping for your benefit you find something that works well for you. Sending my best yo you

Hi, I'm using cbd oil not for chronic pain but for my 2 surgical menopause symptoms : bad sleep and mood liability. I don't know where to find reliable information so I just ask other women with my symptons and they seem to relay on hempworx. I tried 5 brands an hempworx helped me with: brain fog, mood liability, anxiety and quality sleep that in turn gave me resilience into my daily tasks dealing with stressors in general. I still feel there's no place to go when needing extra help and guidance about cbd in general and specific for this symptoms and neurological wellbeing in general. Hoping to fin some neutral, technical information from some practitioner that has experience with patients and can be trustful.

Hi Lorena, What dosage (concentration of CBD to THC ) and how often do you take it , that are you finding that helps with mood, anxiety and quality sleep?
How long have you been using CBD ? Sadly at this point, there is little expert help I have found in discussing this except with people who work at the dispensary or calling them to discuss I did go to a nurse practitioner who specializes in CBD and dosing and management. She is in Northern California . To my knowledge no insurance will cover this nor the CBD . If someone finds a good discussion group with people that are knowledgeable about CBD let me know.

I have been using cbd oils successfully for 4 months now & finding great relief for anxiety & stress. I have joined a Facebook group called cbdoilusersgroup. You can get some good info in there about cbd & related products. After you request to join & approval, you can go to the top of the main page where there is a "search" line where you can put in your "ailment" & search thru all the posts that concern you. I have learned a lot about cbd & many sources for it by reading these posts. Most important thing w cbd is to have patience & educate yourself on the different types of oils, gummies, capsules, vapes, etc. Let me know if I can help; I've become a big believer as it has done wonders for me!

Thank goodness Canada has legalized Marijuana for the entire country. Perhaps we will have legalized Marijuana at the federal level soon. That would solve a lot of issues with buying it, and information about dosing, etc.

I have found that I no longer need the recommended dosage. Have been using around4 months and it has helped with anxiety which is helping some with pain and I am pleased with using CBD thus far. The thing I find interesting is I am down to dosing by drops which is a positive thing as I am not building up a tolerance. My mood has improved and no ugly side effects. I no longer am taking it sublingually as I noticed a touch of irritability. Once I tried placing it on the top of my tongue and swallowing it the tingh of irritability did not take place. Could just be me🤪. May be helpful for someone else.

Hi, My son was taking treatwell 20:1 cbd to THC. Inotherwords about 10mg CBD and 1 mg THC so he would not get high. Unfortunately treatwell went out of business. I just saw a gerontology nurse practitioner who specializes in using CBD with her patients including those with psychiatric conditions and autism. We are switching brands so I will let this discussion group know how it goes with the new one she suggested. It is mail order only but less expensive which is good because I do not know of any insurance companies that will cover the cost. . Currently using temporarily Sweet Jane CBD 20:1 but I am not sure it is as effective. From lectures I have attended the product can vary a bit sometimes since it is made from a plant and not a pharmaceutical process

Hi, thanks for sharing. Please would like to follow up in order to know about the new product you ordered and how your son react to it blessings

Hi Stephaniean I've been taking hempworx 750 mg cbd oil with trace amounts of thc (,3%). I tried Lazarus, bluebird, anothets but hempworx was the one that gave me relief. So I stop trying brands and keep in using it. The problem are the sellers they have business goals and usually are goid giving advice because they used it but it's still controversial and limited bc they are sellers not pharmaceuticals and no technical degree. This in turn is frustrating then you don't receive good guidance about the use and specifics of each person and situation. I used it 4 months without problems on higher dosages (bc they recommend 20 drops am and 20 drops pm) beginning low and going up slowly. The last bottle was a bad batch then no matter how much I used it produced panic attacks with palpitations and in the lower doses anxiety. I tried during 1 week plating with doses and timing and things were getting worst so I put q claim and they asked me for the lot # and expiration date and nor of the 4 bottles have that info, so they sent me immediately a new bottle. So I had to start again the whole process from the beginning and make my way up gradually. I was in much suffering because of bad sleep waiting to my sweet spot and at the 3rd week I start to experiment relief at 9 to 10 drops. So I continue my way up bc they recommend to get close to 20 drops in my case (pmdd ( but on 12 drops I started again to be a MESS full anxiety night without getting any rest I started to place my testimony all over all the fb support groups related to cbd oil and people suggest not to stop the product but to get down to the #of drops that I started to feel relief. So now I am at 9 drops really scary of getting up. Yesterday y used a mirror and counted the 9 drops. Also used a little bit of seroquel to fall asleep and thanks God I didn't experienced a "terrorific" night. Tonight will be my second try, hopping the cbd oil works ad it did the first 3 months instead of getting the same symptoms I am fighting.

What do you mean with the recommended doses? How much where you initially taking and for how long? Then when did you realized you needed less for the same results and how much is less?

Do you think that with time we need less? How many drops were you at the beginning and how many now? Do you think we'll reach a point of not needing it?

With CBD oil I use a full dropper two times a day, with CBD with THC I only do 0.25 if I do more I get light headed and I don’t like that feeling. My CBD with THC is 50/50 I don’t use it everyday. Only when my anxiety is really bad. I would like to think eventually I won’t need any of it, but who knows

The thing with CBD and/or THC is that they are not a "cure" for the symptoms for which they provide relief. They are like other pain or anxiety relievers; they relieve symptoms temporarily. For me, they do a great job of relief, and I only use them as needed, which isn't everyday.

There is always the possibility that after feeling the lack of anxiety we may be able to recreate the feeling without the assistance of the CBD/THC, but that would probably require learning meditation techniques. In fact, some THC users experience more anxiety, so if that happens to you, use only the CBD.

I think that since Canada has legalized Marijuana for recreational use, researchers will be freed to do more studies on exactly what effects it has on different people. We just need to remember that this is all an experiment at this point in time. For more information about dosing, etc., I have found that https://healer.com is a very helpful site with tons of information.

Thanks I will check that page. But what I've read everywhere is that there's a need of trace amounts of thc (,3%) to receive te complete benefit of the cbd. Are you saying than an isolate could have the same effects on symptomatology?

What effect do you think or feel that the isolate cbd is giving to you? I want to have results and don't understand so good the rol of an cbd isolate. Is it effective? When it start working for you? Can you feel any real changes? How long do you have to wait from the initial dose to feel some relief? Does the cbd alone can improve your emotional stability and cognitive function?

I'm assuming by "isolate" CBD, you mean CBD without any THC. I have only used CBD Living Water that I think has no THC in it. I used it when I was withdrawing from Tramadol. It really helped me with the anxiety that comes from withdrawal. I just felt relaxed when I used it. I only use the CBD w/1/4 THC now, .50 on the dropper, and it works for me with no "high" feeling. Everyone is different though, so you will have to find the dose that works best for you. Start at .25 on the dropper and work your way up from there.

I use 0.25 oil with THC but don’t use it all the time. CBD oil works for my anxiety I use it when needed. My anxiety, depression came from with drawl from Lyrica which put me in the stat3 of a heroine addict needing a fix…horrible I’d of rather been dead
