Cardiac MRI
Had a cardiac MRI with general anesthesia. In the tube for two hours but there was a problem with the images so the only reading received was: There is mild circumferential wall thickening in the left ventricle measuring 11 to 12 mm.
My cardiologist has not contacted me with next steps so I am asking if this qualifies me for septal myectomy - or - ? I have mild symptoms on exertion.
Thank you. I know you are not doctors 🙂

Do you have a follow-up appointment? If not, call the office and find out if you should make one or is your cardiologist going to contact you when the results are reviewed. The hardest part is often the waiting to find out the next step; I think most of us feel better when a definite plan is in place. We all need to be a patient patient for sure!
I think 11 mm (1.1 cm) is pretty good, with 6-9 mm as normal width. Not an expert, though. Ask your doc.
