Yes. Twice. I have ovarian cancer with no tumors but ascitas in my abdomen. I’m on chemotherapy to kill them.
@sistermarcy
Thank you, Sistermarcy. If you want to share, are you on an intravenous chemotherapy or pills? I will get my treatment plan next week,
@brendaae
I’m on an infusion… forgot the name of it.
@brendaae Hi and welcome to Mayo Connect. At this point, is anything being done about the ascites? Or is that part of next week's treatment plan discussion?

1 Reaction@tomrennie Hello and Thank you for your welcome. I have had draining of fluid done and it matches my breast cancer cells. I will be, hopefully, getting a treatment plan the week of February 16, 2026.

1 Reaction@brendaae I had my stomach drained three times from ascites. Do you know what is causing it yet? What type of breast cancer do you have?

2 Reactions@tomrennie Lobular breast cancer. This ascites is very uncomfortable and I am starting to fill up again. Was drained just one week ago.
@brendaae It can be very uncomfortable. The cause for it has to be diagnosed and treated typically for it to stop. Any suggestions on what that might be? If not, that could be a question to ask at your treatment plan appointment this week.
