Can this be a vagus nerve associated?

I have had a lobectomy of my right lower lung a 8 years ago. I also have been taking armor thyroid for over 20 years for hashimoto’s. My “thyroid symptoms” changed after the lobectomy but all thyroid related testing shows I am “balanced”. My symptoms led my doctor to check my heart regulation which was found to be very good for my 72 years . But I have been losing energy, not sleeping well, hot and cold, weight gain since that surgery. About 2 years ago I had trouble breathing and they found PE which added Eliquis as my other medication. I saw a post about the vagus nerve which symptoms sounded similar. Could this be my problem and how do I approach this issue?

Other than consult an internist or endocrinologist, I'm not sure. Some people don't tolerate apixaban, so maybe the Eliquis is the culprit here. Might be worth a short trial off it, say four days, to see if it improves your sensations and symptoms. Of course, this is only a suggestion and does not qualify as professional advice since I have no medical training. Thinking rationally, though, your risk of a stroke is moderate at worst, probably somewhat less, and if you got the go-ahead from a physician expert in your circumstances and various conditions, you might stand to do a trial this way.

Based on your descriptions of symptoms, I would not thing dysautonomia /Vagal tone are indicated....but I could be wrong. Worth passing this by that internist you're going to see.

@gloaming thank you for your quick reply … can you further explain your association of my symptoms to Apixiban….for me it seemed always to be associated with the PE…again, this was PE related to my lung cancer. I did talk to my oncologist a year ago and after a couple of months reduced the dosage from 5 to 2.5 2x daily according to a PubMed I pointed out.

I don't know anything about your various conditions except that when you mentioned intake of Eliquis I recalled from earlier topics posted here by others who were certain that apixaban was causing them undesired symptoms. This was news to me at the time since I had used it for years and not had any reactions, but several replying to those threads had also found that they, too, had developed unwanted side-effects. When they switched to another anti-coagulant, they improved. Could have fooled me, but there it was....
