Can one stop taking prolia after the first shot?
Hello everyone, my mom is 84 year old and she got osteoporosis since 8 years. She took prolia last October. She started to feel a lot of pain in her legs now. I am thinking she shouldn't take the 2nd shot but I am afraid of the consequences. Did anyone here stop the prolia at an early stage!? If so what happened? Thank you

I want to stop Prolia after one shot and have not had any fractures. My next shot is due in a few weeks from a rheumatologist. I don't do well with bisphosphonates and don't want to take another drug. Will I have trouble?
kjn, the safest time to stop Prolia is after one shot. You may not need a follow up medication. Amgen doesn't think that you would have rebound after a single injection. It might be wise to take an anabolic like Forteo or Tymlos if you don't do well with bisphosphonates. Did you have trouble with Prolia.
@gently I stopped after I shot per horrible side effects such as sever fatige and about 6 other where the doc said no rebound effect after i shot and to increase Vit D and calcium and return in 6 months. If toy want the list of side effects let me know, I am very sensitive to med and take half dose such as allery pills and that works. Ithink this dose was to strong but that how it comes.
@gently what about after two shots for some reason my Endo said two shots and I challenged him and said well what about just one and he said no I think two is safe. Stop after two and you’ll be OK. I haven’t decided yet cause I don’t know if I completely buy that, there’s no risk of rebound after two.
