Can metformin prevent new Covid infection from worsening existing Long

I have seen reports of Metformin preventing new cases of Long Covid, but cannot find any discussion of whether it prevents worsening of fatigue in those who already have Long Covid. I've had LC fatigue since '22. After a reinfection in '24 my fatigue, which had slowly improved, returned practically to baseline. Again, I've slowly improved from being able to manage only a 3 min. walk to my current 7 min. However, I'm facing another new case of Covid and wonder if Metformin can help prevent me from regressing again. Has anyone with LC taken metformin with a new infection? Did it prevent your fatigue from worsening again?
