Blockage in Sphenoid Sinus Causes Daily Headaches

Posted by sharlynn62 @sharlynn62, Nov 30, 2018

I have had chronic sinusitis for several years, accompanied by daily headaches and my ENT, as well as a MRI of my brain have confirmed that my sphenoid sinus (the sinus in the back of your face that is inside your brain) is completed blocked, and their is a build up of mucous like cells surrounding it. This is what I understand of what I've been told. The scary thing is that this sinus is very close to the optic nerve and other important parts of the brain and could cause irreparable damage to my optic nerve that would possibly cause loss of sight. The procedure to open up the sinus is one that is performed under general anesthesia and there is also the risk of the surgeon accidentally disturbing something else in the brain close to the sinus. This surgery is optional, as I can continue as I am and hope that the sinus doesn't become inflamed or swollen and cause damage. However, currently, I am experiencing the daily headaches that are typical with this condition.

Has anyone experienced anything similar and if so, how did you handle the situation?

I pray the best for you. I have been dealing with ENTs that won’t listen, and when tests are negative, then you must be hallucinating, or mental, or hypochondriac.
This may sound crazy, but I believe we are receiving frequencies, radio or otherwise, that are impacting our brains. 5g may be one of the culprits.

Thank you for your reply. And I agree some drs won’t listen. Let’s hope radio waves aren’t impacting our brains. We are all in trouble then

@turtleback -

5 surgeries is extensive.
Sorry you experienced this.
Any good/sharp ENT knows that strong head pain is not an indication to operate nor is it indicative of sinus related issues.

Doesn’t matter how “great” the physician is, he is a surgeon first and foremost and if his belief system is to operate based off pain complaints then that’s not a good physician.

Hopefully with all the medications you’ve tried you have tried nerve modulation medications like an amitriptyline etc…
Irritated nerves, tight musculature is not going to alleviate from sinus surgeries and in some cases can cause a chronic pain condition.

I hear you. My problem stems from new bone growth and thickened mucosa ( as evident from CT scans) in my sphenoid blocking any path for it to drain causing massive infections. This is reason for headache pain. I have had extensive neurological evaluations that ruled out your suggested diagnosis. As you know sphenoid sinus infections aren’t something to mess with. Sadly the only way to get rid of new bone is surgically.
Thank you for taking time to reply and offer help.

I had never thought about 5g and older radio transmissions, but I was deathly ill last year as of August 2025. My phone went haywire, I was constantly hacked…. Every day my Samsung phone would have settings that I did not authorize. My lap top crashed when I tried to access an unknown link.
Unfortunately, I’m still seeing the same thing with the ringer on my phone being turned off.
Yes, I hate humpty and all of his brainless wonders. I verbalize this each and every day. Guess someone continues to notice.
