Has anyone here had ECT for depression or anxiety? If so, how did it go? Was it beneficial to you? Helped you with your symptoms? An answer soonest would be so appreciated. Thank you, Dannybee

Hi @dannybee and welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect.
There are several people that have discussed ECT and I like to introduce them to you.
@rossjt, @marjou, @parus, @mrser52 and @georgette12
And here is a similar conversation on the topic
Danny, are you looking to schedule ECT?
@dannybee One of the worst experiences for me. No longer see anyone in the mental health field and far better without them. Also had a Vegas Nerve Stimulator another disaster as it kept resetting. That has been gone since 2010. Thankful to no longer have my brains toyed with by professionals.
@amandaburnett Well, there you have it from the OGM. I would like to believe there are better trained professions out there somewhere. Mayhap, I am too bullheaded to believe thus. All I know is that is was not right for me. I am more content and far less self-demeaning now.

I guess I've decided not to, and I promised my daughter I wouldn't. So….thanks for asking. Danny
Thanks guys for the answers. It is scary sounding isn't it? But, I've tried so many antidepressants I'm at my wits end. 🤗. Danny
