I have been suffering with Balanitis for roughly 140 days. unable to to have intercourse or any related experience. multiple visits with Urologists and Dermatologists and uncertain if they can properly even diagnose. i have taken Doxycycline, Alfuzosin, Meloxicam for balanitis related prostatitis. Fluconazole, Clotrimazole, Hydrocortisone, Econazole Nitrate, Nystatin Power and Cream, Tacrolimus, Terrasil, Eumaid, Penaten and a few others with zero relief. Desperately seeking assistance.
Sorry for your situation. Medical literature states treatment is high dose steroids or long courses of antibiotics are given. Did you also have poly arthritis and/or conjunctivitis before the outbreak? Were you checked for Reiter’s Syndrome after your diagnosis? If positive it can be transmitted to partner. I hope you find relief!
i have had so called ballentitus for going on 5 to 6 months--- the dermos were worthless! i have a shiney red penis head that goes from shiney to wrinkle--- if i use steroid cream it seems to make it worse! also the clo ect makes it wrinkle too--- so i went to dollar tree beleve it or not and got their a and d cream-- it works the best so far but inst a cure--- ive got a couple of other creams that work so anyone out their can ask --- its much better than the dermo crap -- so answer and ill tell you more thanks its a bitch fro sure!

@bblackman50 sorry to hear! mine is basicly a red shiney penis head sore- no rash-- then goes to wrinkle peeling if i dont use cream--- then i have to use it 5 times per day but it helps for sure--- the dermo stuff like above mentioned made it worse! believe it or not i was in dollar tree and found their A abd D cream its not diaper paste kike the other a and d stuff--- its been the best so far! plus i have found other things that help-- if you read this and i presume they notify me of posts- i might be able to help you with other stuff-- no im not over it but i can walk now without that sandpaper feeling in your shorts- take care
SORRY TO HEAR ! its been 6 months for me--- lots of different types-- most dermos will throw the steroid cream at you like me-- ok im sure it helps people - but it can thin skin so they say dont use it extended-- ive tried it it made things worse--- ive gottin on many forums the frustration is overwhealming for sure--- mine is a shiney penis head no rash that goes into wrinkle peeling if i dont apply something many times per day--- believe it or not with my condition i use a&d natureplex from doller tree and alsocareall creamy petroelium jelly also from dollar tree- they might be avail online-- i start with the petrolium jelly then apply on top the a&e its not a cure but helps me a lot--- if i dont do it its like sandpaper in my shorts! good luck its a bi---! swab a good idea i guess i havent got that far! ive been pretty p owed!
ive had ballentitus for 6 months or so no help from the dermos so far mine is a shiney head that gets dry and goes to wrinkles and peeling--- ist thing the dermos gave was steroid cream which made things worse for me--then the athletes foot stuff no deal then miconazole 2% cream which seemed to helpa bit but no cure for me so beleive it of not the dollar tree a&e cream(not paste) works the best along with care all brand-again dollar tree vitamin e enriched petro jelly- i combine both and it give s a lot of relief but no cure! i apply that up to 5 times per day.. also urine testes with culture comes out normal even though when i pee the head gets reder and shiner at times! this post might not help but might give some relief(ps if anyone else can help let me or us know-- its changed my life and sleeping habits! take car youall thanks bill
I’ve had Balantitis several times the last fee years and what has worked for me every time is a combination of Mupiricin 2% (antibiotic) and Clotrimazole 1% (antifungal). I put a dab of Mupiricin on my index finger tip and then a dab of Clotrimizole on top, mix them together on my finger tip and then apply. It usually takes about 3 days or so before it completely disappears. It was recently by a dermatologist about 10 years ago at Cedars Sinai. I hope it also works for you and others that have to suffer with it.
