Has Dr visited with your Father about a defibrillator? When he "blacks out" does he come to on his own? Good luck with assisting your Father through this issue.

he comes to after a minute or so he hasnt needed a defibrillator yet! and because he lives on his own im quite worried . the doc has said that when people have these episodes 59% die with the first and 80% with the second so far he has had 10 or more i just dont know what to do the doc doesnt know what is happening but they also arent doing any thing about it , i think luck is something my dads running out of and the head specialist isnt coming back for two weeks

Hi, I was diagnosed with A Fib a couple of months ago, I am 75, but otherwise in good health, I do have a heart murmur; Anyway, I have experienced 3 black outs, one this morning, where I hit my head on my monitor. I am taking Metopocol and Flecanide and a blood thinner, low doses. I am pretty concerned also.

After coming close to a few blackouts, which are technically called orthostatic hypotension, I have found that if you sit up straight and wait a few minutes before getting out of bed or rising from a chair, that it helps to reduce the dizziness. Hope it is that simple for you but you should check with your cardiologist anytime you pass out. TA

Flecanide caused my husband to black out twice, the second time he crashed my car into a telephone pole and it is a dangerous drug for some people.
