Camping or RV parks and parking near Mayo Clinic, Arizona

Posted by nancykamitchis @nancykamitchis, Jan 8, 2020

I have a consultation appointment at the Phoenix Hospital next month and we are driving in for the day from out of state. We will be towing our 19 ft travel trailer with a pick up truck. It is the only way we can travel. I need to know if I can park it for the day in the north parking lot, #1 or 2, while we are in the Mayo Clinic Specialty building #2 that afternoon.

I wonder if you could find parking at one of the hotels on campus or nearby? Or the Village? It wouldn't hurt to call and ask. https://www.mayoclinic.org/patient-visitor-guide/arizona/hotels-lodging

We tried. I thought it would be a simple no-brainer thing --but evidently -- This being high season for snow birds in the area, it ain't. Had to act fast or risk being shut out at any local RV park. In fact, learned our favorite one, Eagle View in Ft McDowell, was booked. ---We just today reserved a two day spot at another one. Them's the breaks.

It is snowbird season. Forgot about that. I'm glad that you got a spot at another RV park. You might consider adding your name to a cancellation list at Eagle View.
All the best with the medical appointments.

Welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect, @cgypsy. It depends on which campus you are visiting.

I do know that Florida has a large parking lot on their campus dedicated to RVs if you will be driving one down and you can park over night there. You may want to contact the concierge desk to see whether or not you would need a parking pass to do so. You can also contact them to find out if there is an RV park nearby at any of the other campus's as well.

Traveling to a new place for medical care can be stressful. Mayo Clinic Concierge Services can help make your trip go smoothly. They provide information about travel, lodging, Mayo Clinic and community resources to plan your visit. And it’s free.

Hi @ggwash21. I recommend contacting Mayo Clinic Concierge Services to find out about current availability regarding parking. I know Nancy ran into some obstacles with construction a couple of years ago. So you want to make sure you have current status. Here's how to contact @lmindela and the Concierge Services:

@ggwash21 Hi and just thought I would add some local info. I live in Arizona about 1.5 hours from the Phoenix campus and there is still major construction still going on mostly on building 3 which is the cancer center. I can't say that I've seen a lot of parking lot area for RV's But I'm not really asked that question before. They also have part of one of the parking lots closed down and one of the employee lots is closed due to construction. Now I do know Arizona is a big RV goto place with many parks and this time of year they fill up fast so you may want to be looking right now. For temporary overnight stays I do know alot of the Walmarts allow overnight parking may help if delayed finding a place. This n is our high season for RVs so timing may be a factor. Typically right after the holidays is when we get our largest influx of Northern visitors. So I hope you find something if I can help with any other local things please let me know.
Blessings
