Arrhythmia after heart stent

Hello @swilkins1974. I'd like to invite @tbr, @rebdog, @vic83 and @mayomee who have all discussed having stents. They may be able to share some of their experiences after receiving the stents as well or any adverse reactions after their procedures.

@swilkins1974, is your cardiologist or provider aware of the arrhythmia? Was there any concern from their end with this symptom?

I received my stent (LAD-left anterior descending artery) for a 70% blockage back in April 2022. I was on Plavix for 6 months and have had no issues with the stent.
They increased my cholesterol medication after the stent because they want LDL below 70. I repeated blood work several months later and cholesterol still was not under 70 so they changed my drugs.
Otherwise there does not seem to be much follow-up for stents. If you have concerns, you should call your Cardiologist.

I did do another angioplasty in Oct 2023 because of increased shortness of breath. They said everything with the stent looked fine. Unfortunately, they were not able to complete the right-side.

My adverse reactions were more associated with medications, which disconcertingly cause cardiac-related symptoms as well as the concerning weight loss. Because I was an outlier, it was months before medications were corrected by a different cardiologist.

Yes they are aware and did not seem overly concerned.

Do you mind sharing which medication and symptoms.

After a STEMI in Feb 2023, I was prescribed Aspirin, Rosuvastatin, Metoprolol, Clopidogrel (for 12 months), and Perindopril. Symptoms developed from around 5 - 6 months later, and were chest pain and shortness breath. Changed to Amlodopine and Isosorbide Mononitrate as well as the statin, but symptoms persisted. Weight loss was gradual, but over the period if a year. New meds in March this year. Now I'm symptom free and putting on weight.
