What are the best treatment for CLL? Is CAR T cell therapy an option?

Posted by surreal name @sofaramnotdead, Jul 30, 2021

[July 30, 2021 1:43 P.M.]I don't need treatment right now, fortunately. I've been in remission for over 5 years. Would you say that treatment for CLL has drastically improved in the past 5 years? I know that doctors might say that the treatment for every disease has greatly improved, but I want to find out what is really going on with the best treatments for CLL. Thanks! 🙂

@carl50

I was diagnosed with CLL 7 years ago at age 64 and have had semi annual testing since then with little or no change in my conditions. How long before I'm likely to need treatment?

Hi Carl. I've been "fighting" CLL for about 5 years. Diagnosed when I'd had a constant headache for many months. Since then, I've been pursueing daily walks in the fresh air & sunshine (here in Arizona), and avoid idleness, especially in the mornings. A daily, afternoon rest, for 1 hour (always) or more if I'm sick (had a 15-day long intestinal flu, for example). A general practicioner recommended Vit. D, since a lack of it is always present in serious illnesses. I am 76, female. Mom had the same. Was doing labs & oncologist every 2-3 months, now every 6 months. I hope that you also will avoid treatment and, if we will try to eat more fresh veggies, we should do quite well!
