Aortic Root aneurysm

Hello. My husband has an aortic root aneurysm at 5.3., with possible valve replacement surgery sched for Apr. I am also a nurse, but this surgery is all new to me. I have a few questions if anyone could help me with. I heard during the first 2 nights to plan on being at the hospital the whole time?. I planned on this anyways ( a got a hotel across the street from the hospital if needed) Am I allowed in his ICU room with him? A chair to sit with him? Is there a waiting room I can get some sleep in if I can’t stay in his room? I come from working in a smaller hospital where a family member was allowed to stay in the ICU rooms with them…… but I realize the intensity of the care when he comes back to his room
I just want him to always see me every time he opens his eyes, I don’t want to leave his side.
