Anyone try Lamotrigine
I have tried a lot of medications that did not help. I have gone through sever neurologists and my latest one is trying me on Lamotrigine. Has anyone tried it? I have had this problem for over 2 years and had a lot of diagnosis, and the latest one is Chronic Progressive Post Stroke Sensory Disturbance and Pain Syndrome. It was mostly on my left side and has not moved across my gut and head. Numbness, tingling, heavy and now hurting.

Hi Damp123- I have used the name brand (Lamictal) for 10 years, but it was prescribed for my mood disorder. They usually start with free a trial kit to ensure that you don’t get a bad rash. Out of 22 medications they tried, it (plus one other) were the only I could withstand. Unfortunately, I have no idea how it would affect someone with Chronic Progressive Post Stroke Sensory Disturbance and Pain Syndrome. For me, I noticed the difference immediately, but everyone is different. Good luck to you, John.

1 Reaction@txwalker22 I had a thalamic stroke that has not resolved. It started in my left leg and has taken up my whole left side and is still getting worse. So the deal is that the brain needs to get fooled. The medication is to calm down my left side and make my right-side match. Then the brain will stop trying to resolve. Then I can work on getting better. So they try trialing different depression medications. I tried to get into the Mayo Clinic in Arizona and they said that they were too busy and could not take me. I have not lost hope quite yet.
