I saw an ENT who specializes in vestibular migraines. He put me on verapamil as well as allergy medicine and allergy nasal spray. I have not had any dizziness since starting on that. I do still suffer from daily headaches and migraines though. But I am very happy that the vertigo hasn't come back.

My ENT claimed to be a vestibular specialist and when I got there he said I need to go to a neurologist. I have 2 of them and they don't seem to know anything either and one specializes in vestibular headaches. What am I missing here?
I would ask your PCP or neurologist about trying Verapamil ER 120mg, if you could give it a try. I was having vertigo so bad that I couldn't walk, the room spinned like in the wizard of oz movie.
I was having other problems recently and went off it for two weeks and my head started feeling "funky" and had to turn my head slowly. I went back on it and it has improved again. I don't know if it will help everyone like it has helped me, but maybe worth a try. I haven't had vertigo since starting the Verapamil. I do still suffer with migraines, but no spinning. I hope you find relief.

I understand why you are thinking, "What am I missing here?" I have one suggestion that might help. I live within a 40-minute drive from a university medical school. I took my headache and vestibular problems there and found an ENT/neurologist, who really helped. Often, these difficult-to-treat health issues can best be treated at a large, research-oriented healthcare system.
If you live near one, you might call to see who they have who treats these headaches. This particular doctor also told me about a book, (that was written by an M.D. ) who was not having success treating his migraines. He started doing his own reserach and came up with a book with the results of his reserach and success. The book, "How to Heal Your Headache: The 1-2-3 Program for Taking Charge of Your Pain" by David Buchholz, M.D. I learned a lot about my headache/vestibular triggers.
I went to an ENT who speciaoin vestibular migraines. He put me on Verapamil, daily allergy medicine (loratadine) and allergy nose spray Flonase (generic). That was about 8 years ago. I was having terrible vertigo, the whole room spun around me like the wizard of oz movie. I had to crawl to the bathroom, couldn't sit up or stand/walk. We had to do the Eply Maneuver a couple times. Since the start of meds by the ENT I have only had 1 or 2 episodes, mostly now I just have to be careful turning .y head, do it slowly. My head feels "off" at times or like "full" it's hard to describe with my migraines and daily headaches . But I am thankful I haven't had the terrible spinning.

Mine is more lightheaded, not vertigo. I have to watch what meds I take because I have glaucoma. Thank you though.

Yes, I go to Jefferson Headache Center in Philadelphia for 10 years now. They are still trying to figure it out.
Thanks for the info I will check it out.
I would be interested in knowing what you learn, @mikayla. Post again with any updates or new information.
