I meet in a week to see the combo they are recommending next.

I hope you will share your new combo. I am going on Avastin, which my second opinion doctors labeled obsolete, but I am trusting my doctor on this because the side effects of keytruda and lenvima (which all 3 doctors say might have good results) sound so debilitating. Quality of life over quantity I am thinking.

@rainna Thank you for checking back in. You've been in my thoughts.

I will be completing my final week of radiation treatment and have not had chemotherapy. I think it's a very individual decision on what a person chooses to do for their treatment. With three consults from doctors and the research you probably did you arrived at the choice that works for you. When do you start on Avastin or have you already started?

Hello, Miriam, I've been thinking about you and wondering how you are doing. You are having radiation treatments for 5 weeks? Does this mean 25 radiation treatments in total? And then in February you will start chemotherapy? How are you doing with all of this? Can your partner take care of the shopping and cooking as I imagine all of this is emotionally overwhelming for you?

Good to see you here and anyone else that might be going through this.
They are doing 5 days of radiation just to try to shrink the tumor before this next round of chemo
It will be Cysplatin and Germa something.
It will be for 18 weeks , once a week.
It will be three weeks on, one week off until I have have had 18 rounds.
Insurance initially turned it down, but the oncologist called insurance and explained a trial that was done.
Do we will do.
How are you?

Not sure if my answer went through
I am having 5 days in a row if radiotherapy to try and shrink the tumor they saw on Dec. 15.
Then Feb 3 I start 18 weeks of
Cysplatin and Germa something?
They will do weekly sessions and then one week off. Until I have 18 weeks or they determine it isn’t working.

Thank you for the explanation @miriam57 It sounds like a grueling schedule ahead for you. It's great that your oncologist is in your corner for insurance too. I'm trying to get back to more of a regular schedule but the fatigue sneaks up on me. Like you wrote, we do what we do and I stay in the present.
