Anyone here go to Northwestern in Chicago?

I’ve been looking into getting a second opinion on my bronchiectasis and MAB, I found the 37 bronchiectasis and NTM approved clinics in the United States, and Northwestern in Chicago is the closest one to me. Just wondering if anyone has experience there that they can share. I see two doctors have specialties in both!

At NMH, I see Dr. Angarone for Infectious disease and Dr. Sala for pulmonology. I love Dr. Angarone. So thorough and spends plenty of time with me, making sure I fully understand everything. Dr. Sala I'm still undecided on, but he seems to understand the value of airway clearance. Overall, I'm happy with my experiences at Northwestern. If one day my insurance allows and my needs change, I might try to go to Denver to National Jewish.

So I found out at Northwestern, even though they are one of the 37 clinics, they give you to the first Pulmonologist they have available. Then that Pulmonologist follows the “protocol.” I do like the Pulmonologist they gave me. Dr. Kalhan. On the infectious disease front, I got a young doctor, who was nice enough, but not as experienced as I was hoping. The good news is that, because they are one of the 37 clinics, she immediately shared my case with NJH and consults and defers to them on my care.

@cyndanna That is great to know that when necessary they will confer with NJH.
