Anyone having afib help by taking Heart Calm?
I started taking flecainide but it doesn’t seem to stop the afib and makes me tired and fatigued. It looks like Heart Calm is helping people with different heart rhythm conditions. Anyone using it for afib successfully?

I haven't tried it but I just looked it up. It looks like it is mostly magnesium taurate, which I believe is magnesium bound together with an amino acid called taurine.
I had an ablation last year for persistent afib. After my ablation, the AFIB stopped, but I did still have some PACS and a lot of PVCs (5 to 8 per minute). My EP suggested mag oxide, which had no effect. I then tried a magnesium supplement called "Triple Calm", which was a combination of mag taurate, mag glycinate, and mag malate. I took 3 capsules daily for about a week and it helped. Now I just take 400 mg of mag taurate daily. Sometimes I take 600 mg daily depending on how I am doing. My PACs have totally stopped, and my PVCs decreased to just one every once in a while. They also seem to be less noticeable. The cessation of the PACs might have just been my heart eventually calming down after the "blanking" period following the ablation. My EP said that the PVCS had nothing to do with the ablation, so I think that the mag taurate helped with those. I also eat a banana each day and drink a glass of the sodium free V8 juice each day for the potassium. The sodium free V8 has potassium instead of sodium for flavor enhancement. One thing I have learned is that there is no "one size fits all" answer to heart rhythm issues. What seems to work for one person doesn't work for the next person. That's why sites like this are so helpful. Good luck to you.
Thank you for sharing this information. My takeaway is “This might help and each of us must find what works for our own particular situation.” Makes sense!
Yes. My mom started taking it a few weeks ago and it's helped her tremendously. She's had a-fib for years.
According to what I can find "Heart Calm" has several different formulas, mainly potassium and magnesium.
If you are low on these minerals a supplement is certainly beneficial, especially if you are on a loop diuretic such as Furosemide or Torsemide, however if you are not low on magnesium excessive amounts of said mineral generally just cause diarrhea if taken orally, (that's through the mouth). Low Potassium can cause heart and other disorders, but with Potassium an overdose can also cause heart and other disorders as well.
Your best bet is to get a blood test to see if your Potassium or Magnesium levels are within tolerances. In many cases a vitamin or mineral overdose is more dangerous than a not enough, although the health food industry is still allowed to push these mega doses of this and that, in many cases these high doses are doing more damage than good.
Your probably better off to stay away from the supplements unless you have a definite deficiency for whatever reason.
Cheers!
How often does your mom take it each day?
It what way has it helped her?
How long has your mom had A-Fib?
Does she have paroxysmal, persistent or permanent A-Fib?
Thank You
I’ve been suffering from palpitations and elevated heart rate for the last 15 years using a beta blocker. I was running out from my medication until my next medical appointment to get a med prescription. In the meanwhile I starting using heart calm and I feel a great improvement since the first dose, using it as indicated 1 capsule on each meal. Before it, if I omitted one dose my heart started to beat hard and faster. Now my heart is calmed without the need of a beta blocker. For me work perfect.
Sounds like an interesting alternative.
Where do you buy it? 3 a day?
So does it help with both rapid heartbeat and afib?
What’s the brand name and where did you get it from? Did your doctor review the ingredients?
