Anyone have Brain Fog as a result of allergy?
Sometimes I feel out of it, like my brain just wants time out and not be present. I attribute this to allergies, although I am not sneezing or blowing my nose now. Have had several sinus problems like infections, although taking antibiotics clears it up and then it returns afterward.
The humidity in the air makes it worse. I feel more alive in stores with increased AC but today it's cloudy and rainy outside and I am thinking I want to sit and do nothing but I need to do stuff. Has anyone else felt like this and is it allergies?

@phxbarb - I have allergies personally, however, I've not experienced that particular symptom.

Thanks ! At least I know now I am not imagining it. The brain is a complicated organ and when it doesn't work right, it gives you grief. I am so tired of trying to diagnose my head !
Hi, @phxbarb. Are you still experiencing the brain fog as a result of allergy like you were last month? If so, are you better or worse?
I am much better, mainly because I have been staying inside with AC running. I haven't been gardening or going anywhere, and I know that has helped. Next month I am getting the balloon sinoplasy which will help me even more. I am considering moving to a less green environment although I will hate it.
two years ago I was diagnosed as having 'dangerously high" cholesterol levels, and the very young woman prescribed medication for it (the name escapes me at the monent) which turned me into a zombie. Literally. After a week i called and told her I was going off the meds. She was horrified. Much of my memory now is gone, forever. I can remember stuff, but not necessarily recent things. Tell me you will be wearing a red scarf so I can find you in the crowd, and within minutes I have no memory of any of it. And the high cholesterol this year was considered 'normal' five years ago.
I would also recommend anyone being prescribed new meds to take it to Google for revaluation. Google has no stake in this, and will probably give you technical advice that a doctor won't. Most doctors these days are more concerned with how many pills you're taking, and how high your cholesterol levels are. And what kind of feedback they get from the folks who recommend meds for their patients.
Years ago I was battling reflux, and my doctor then recommended Zantac. I found a generic that worked as well, but when I told him he looked sad and said, "you really need Zantac". Which I translated into no, "no you don't but I get $omething extra from the drug companie$,,, turns out an apple before bed (and hold off on the chocolate and coffee after supper) works better than any drug out there.
Look at it this way: if you found out you were allergic to cats and dogs. would you run out and get one? It's a comfort zone thing as much as anything. And you might find that the sinoplasy will take care of the problem...
Hopefully the sinuplasty will help with increasing your oxygen availability and breathing better!! I have memory issues - from years of steroids from my asthma. It is short term memory loss - but after 24 hours, I do recall what happened the previous day. It is not about concentrating. Unfortunately, I need to write myself notes throughout the day. Please realize it can be the side effect of a medication as well. Many years ago there was an asthma medication called Accolate. Worked GREAT on asthma, no steroids, etc. However, many in the asthma support group I was in, were on it. We then realized that we all had this short term memory loss, but kept "forgetting" to tell our MD, since it worked so well with asthma. Eventually, it was taken off the market (for other reasons). Singular - which is similar - may cause this as well as any medication you take. Google everything. Good luck!
Brain Fog?
Almost continuously. If it's not tree pollen then its grass pollen. When that subsides Mimosa takes over. All species of vegetation wants its innings.
It's what I get for living in the woods.
we all have varying reactions to all kinds of things. the druggists must love us.
One of the major problems is many doctors' attitudes toward women. To them we are either premenopausal or post menopausal, they ignore our 'problems' as minor (but they do come to visit us in the hospital) or downplay the big stuff as 'female hysterics" until we faint dead away in front of them. Oh I would love to do that. It really gets their attention...
And I hear you about the allergies. would one of those covid masks help?
