anyone have any dietary ideas for person with microscopic colitis?

Posted by karne @karne, Jan 10, 2012

I have seen 3 specialists, my p.care physician, and a homeopathic Doctor....NOT ONE professional has offered me any information regarding diet! I am not lactose intolerant, (been tested) do not have celiac's, or krohns but...have to think that diet figures into this scenario somewhere...any suggestions? I would like to get on with my life instead of facing each day with the prospect of....will I be "okey" today or will I have diarrhea (there, I said it)....

I don't take Entocort. The first time I was on it, it worked for me. The next time it didn't work. Now my doctor wants me to go back on it. Medicare doesn't cover this medication and the least it can be gotten for here is over $1,253.00 for a month. I can't afford a drug that expensive, especially when it didn't work the last time. I have been on so many different medications and nothing works for me. I have not been able to find a doctor that specializes in microscopic colitis. If any body knows of a good GI in or near Waukesha, WI, please forward their name and number, if possible.

@colski At least you may be able to get into Mayo MN... I am on Medicare with a Gap Insurance and I go to Mayo MN in Rochester every year..
