Trying to solve mystery of recurrent nausea.

Posted by bg7771 @bg7771, 3 hours ago

First occurrence was about 5 years ago. I had nausea for several weeks and treated it with Pepcid AC. Now I am several weeks into a second (vomited once) episode and was prescribed pantoprazole 40 mg, 1 tablet daily, and have had improvement but still feel nausea at times. Blood tests have revealed elevated amylase, both 5 years ago and again now although it is not as severe, 237 as opposed to 380. Five years ago my PCP had fractionated testing done and the elevated amylase was coming from both my pancreas and my saliva glands in fairly equal amounts. My PCP never pursued it further nor did I request him to since it went away. I am 82 years old (female) and frequently feel tired but try to be as active as possible. Not sure what is going on but I am scheduled for a CT of my abdomen in about 3 weeks and am terrified of what the results may show [pancreatic cancer]?. I have been in pretty good health otherwise. Thank you for any information about anyone's experience with elevated amylase.
