Anyone had a cancerous lung nodule removed and having clean scans?

Hi everyone. I had lung surgery to remove a stage 1A1 adenocarcinoma on August 9th. Clean margins (but close) and no lymphnode involvement. I am so petrified of my upcoming scan that more are going to appear or something bad is going to happen. I just need to hear from someone who has had this surgery and is doing well some years later to calm me down. This has been such a traumatic experience. They called the nodule low suspicion as it was ground glass and 9 mm. The blood test showed it could be 68% cancer so they biopsied it and it came back bad. Please someone help..I even had a PET scan that was negative. My doctor said I am cured but that there's always a possibility that another nodule could pop up due to previous smoke exposure. I was a very light smoker for a while and have since put the awful things down for good. He said my lungs were as pink as a newborns which is good.

Hello, welcome to the group. my case was not surgery but cancer in the lung, my case started out with brain tumor that was also cancerous. now cancer free which makes no sense to me but with the radiation and chemo, 2 treatments only, they say I am cancer free. but have to get checked every 3- 4- 6 months and still cancer free. with the equipment they have improved, i am finally after months of worry, but each scan says no cancer I'm more on their side now. tests keep coming back clean is all I care about. ill send a prayer for you. have a blessed day. my next check is the end of Dec. Have a blessed day. 96
