Anyone else have multiple autoimmune diseases?

Posted by noelcs @noelcs, Sep 28, 2025

I have Addisons, Hypothyroidism, Sarcoidosis, Myasthenia Gravis and Dermatomyositis. Also, Kidney disease 3a, and liver disease. Good news is……I don’t seem to have the worst. Are scenario of any of them. My biggest problem is the lungs. I still golf some and the breathing sometimes interferes. Overall, I consider myself lucky that I’m still here……because I’ve had some close calls.

Hi.. I just joined but checked for anyone else with multiple AI diseases including MS. I was diagnosed 25 yrs ago with MS, then soon after Celiacs disease, Hashimotos and Euhlers Danlos. I also had chronic migraines for 50 years, but was ‘cured.’
Just a few years ago my MS diagnosis was changed to Primary Progressive.. so with that, the ED and Hashi., everyday is another battle.
How are you coping? Are you on a DMD for the MS?
Thanks and good luck.

@nancyamr Welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect! I’m so glad that you found us. You have quite a collection of autoimmune diseases. I’m sorry that you have so much to deal with . You asked a question about DMD for the MS. I’m sure that many members will have answers to your question soon. You mentioned that your chronic migraines are finally gone! My neurologist put me on nortriptylene so I was able to get rid of mine also.
